The program is designed for adults experiencing a psychiatric disorder that’s co-occurring with a substance-use disorder.

Dual-diagnosis care combines the most successful strategies for treating mental health conditions and substance-use disorders.

At the Scrivner Center for Mental Health & Addiction Services, our Dual-Diagnosis Program offers:

  • Experienced mental health professionals who are specially trained in psychiatric care and addiction treatment.
  • Psychiatric evaluation, including medication management.
  • Individual and group counseling, including a multifamily group.
  • Weekly substance-use disorder and chemical dependency support groups.

Program staff includes psychiatrists, clinical nurse specialists, registered nurses, marriage and family therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and registered addiction specialists. The team has extensive experience in providing personalized treatment to meet the needs of each person.

To be admitted to the Dual-Diagnosis Program, you can be referred by your psychiatrist, therapist or by a psychiatric inpatient hospital. It’s also possible for participants or their family members to initiate the referral process. All prospective participants must make an appointment for the initial assessment to determine the appropriate level of care.
