Designed to help develop the coping skills needed to resume life, our program provides goal-oriented, short-term treatment to help overcome emotions and behaviors that are a barrier to health and wellness.

The program uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as a framework for treatment. CBT focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Studies have shown that CBT can be effective in treating a variety of mood conditions, including depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder.

How the Program Works

The Adult Mood Program consists of two levels of care – partial hospitalization (up to six hours a day) and intensive outpatient (three hours a day) treatment programs. Typically, patients may start at the higher level of care and then transition to the lower level of care as symptoms become more manageable. Our care team provides an assessment to tailor treatment to each individual.

What to Expect

A typical day might include:

  • Individual appointments with your therapist
  • Community meeting
  • Group therapy
  • Cognitive behavioral and stress management groups
  • Family group

Pride Track for LGBTQIA+ Patients

The Adult Mood Program offers a Pride Track to meaningfully support LGBTQIA+ patients who receive mental health services. We know that taking a holistic approach to treatment with every aspect of the individual in mind can impact care access, experience and quality. Overall, the program provides a multidisciplinary approach to treatment including partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) levels of care using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) evidence-based curriculum. Those who are accepted into the Adult Mood Program and identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, can opt into the PRIDE track and participate in specialized groups to augment their treatment.

The Scrivner Center for Mental Health & Addiction Services offers a range of additional specialized programs for those with other mental health and substance abuse disorders. For those who require more acute therapy and care, we offer inpatient psychiatric treatment.
