Celebrating Juneteenth: El Camino Health Sponsors AACSA Festival

Event Brings Thousands to SoFA District

The African American Community Service Agency (AACSA) again hosted the Juneteenth in the Streets Festival in San Jose on June 17 to celebrate the culture, freedom and future of Santa Clara County's African American Community. El Camino Health was one of the sponsors of this 42nd annual event.

The event provides a chance for organizations to reach this largely local audience to promote health literacy. COVID-19 testing and vaccinations were available, as well as a wide range of information about health and healthcare.

AACSA is also a Community Benefit grant partner. Since 1978, the AACSA has been serving and advocating for all communities of color in downtown San Jose. Focusing on the underserved African American population and other communities of color, AACSA helps fight the impact of racial disparities by providing a safe, welcoming environment, as well as educational, cultural, social, and recreational programs and services.

El Camino Health's partnership with AACSA centers on support of their Family Health Services program, which reaches low-income, ethnically diverse children and parents through outreach, screenings and classes on nutrition, fitness, and parenting skills.
