June 2015 Health Tips

1 Minute: Grab a tomato! Tomatoes contain lycopene, a powerful cancer fighter, and are rich in vitamin C, and retain their nutritional value even when cooked. Add them to your salads, pastas or sandwiches to reap their benefits.

5 Minute: Turn the heat down when you shower or bathe. Keep the water warm enough for comfort, but not too hot, or it will dry out your skin and cause premature aging.

15 Minute: Don’t skip breakfast! Load up on a balanced meal and start the day off with the right energy to keep you focused, happy, and healthy! Make sure it’s packed with whole grains, fiber, protein, and calcium. Keep an eye on the sugar content of cereals and juices to make sure you don’t crash before your next meal.

30 Minute: When you exercise, start with weight training. Studies show that starting with a high intensity work will allow you to see better results, because you’re fresh and have the energy you need to push yourself. Conversely, you should end with your cardio, because the increased blood flow to the muscles will help your body recover.
