Outpatient Surgery
Outpatient surgery, also called ambulatory surgery, refers to a same-day procedure — you check in, have your surgery and go home the same day.
When your procedure doesn’t require an overnight hospital stay, we offer outpatient surgery at both Mountain View and Los Gatos campuses.
Specialized Programs
Los Gatos Hospital
Our Los Gatos campus offers a wide range of surgeries — including robotic–assisted techniques — such as:
- Ear, nose and throat (ENT) procedures – Including septoplasty and turbinectomy to open nasal passages and improve breathing.
- Eye procedures – Including cataract surgery with lens implantation and trabeculectomy — a procedure that restores proper eye fluid drainage — to treat glaucoma.
- General surgeries – Including hernia repair and minimally invasive laparoscopic appendectomy (appendix removal) and cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal). Surgeons also perform breast lumpectomies and breast contouring procedures.
- Gynecologic procedures – Including myomectomy to remove fibroids, procedures to treat pelvic prolapse and laparoscopic hysterectomy.
- Orthopedic and spine procedures – Including ankle, knee, hand and shoulder arthroscopic procedures, as well as kyphoplasty for vertebral compression fractures and laminectomy for disc conditions.
- Urologic procedures – Including minimally invasive lithotripsy procedures to treat bladder, kidney and ureteral stones and other urinary tract conditions, as well as brachytherapy to treat prostate cancer.
Mountain View Hospital (El Camino Hospital)
Our Mountain View campus offers:
