Q. Why does El Camino Hospital offer this service?
A. El Camino Hospital offers the Simplee service to help patients have a better understanding of their health benefits and expenses while managing all health-related accounts in one place.

Q. Is there a fee to join Simplee or a recurring cost?
A. Simplee is free to El Camino Hospital patients.

Q. What do I need to join Simplee?
A. You will need the name of your health, dental, drug and/or vision plan, or spending accounts that you want to link to Simplee and the log-in information to access each of these online accounts.

Q. How does Simplee work?
A. After you link your accounts, Simplee pulls all the claims and plan information for you daily. The data is presented in a user-friendly dashboard where your claims list can be filtered and customized based on your needs.

Q. How long does it take set up an account and link my health accounts?
A. Creating an account with Simplee is easy. You'll be asked to provide an email address and create a password. Linking your health accounts only takes a few minutes.

Q. I just linked my health insurance account. How long will it take to see my claims?
A. It can take anywhere from 30 seconds to two minutes for your data to appear on Simplee.

Q. What if I don't have an online account with my insurance?
A. Please visit your insurer's website and follow its directions to set up an account. Then come back to Simplee and link your newly created account.

Q. What information is shared between my insurance company's website and Simplee?
A. Simplee will retrieve your claims from your health insurer's site. This process does not make any changes in your insurance records. Simplee does not share any information with your insurance company.

Q. My doctor's office or clinic visits are not showing up. Why is that happening?
A. This is most likely because either the claim for these services has not yet been processed by your health plan or, if you belong to an HMO, claims are processed by your medical group and not your health plan. This is known as a shared risk or capitated arrangement between the health plan and the medical group. You can contact your health plan or doctor's office/clinic for more information.

Q. Will my employer be able to see my health insurance records?
A. No, your employer will never have access to your health insurance records through Simplee.

Q. Do you sell users' information?
A. No, Simplee will not sell or share users' private health or financial information.

Q. Is my data secure?
A. Yes. Simplee uses the highest industry-standard security measures to make sure your information is safe. These measures include:

  • Full Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance
  • All information is encrypted.
  • Secure hosting facilities in the U.S. for all Simplee servers
  • Your information is never shared.
  • Your original insurance records are never edited or altered.

Q. Can I access Simplee from any internet connection?
A. Yes, Simplee is web-based, so it's available from any internet-connected computer or tablet device.

Q. Do you offer a mobile app?
A. Stay tuned! A mobile app is in development and should be available in the coming months.

Q. I got an error when I tried to link my account. 
A. Visit your insurance carrier's website to check that your login information is correct. If your information is correct, please contact Simplee customer service by emailing support@simplee.com. You'll be contacted within 24 hours of your inquiry. 

Q. How does Simplee's bill payment feature work?
A. It's free to pay your medical bills through Simplee, and it works with any provider.

Choose a claim, click the "Make Payment" button, and enter your debit or credit card information. Your card statement will show a transaction with Simplee as the merchant and a check will be sent directly to your provider. You can also use a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) card. You'll be able to track the status of the payment on your Simplee account.

Q. How is Simplee different from just looking at my insurer's website?
A. Simplee provides several added benefits:

  • You can see all the health plans for you and your family in one place, even if family patients have different insurance companies.
  • Simplee scans all your claims for common billing errors and suggests money-saving tips specific to your expenses.
  • If you change insurance providers, you won't lose your data.
  • You can pay any medical bill, to any provider, electronically with a few simple clicks.
