Full range of services

We offer a full range of cancer services, including surgery, medical oncology, radiation therapy, certified oncology nursing, pain management, tumor board conferencing, physical therapy, and nutrition counseling.

Advanced technology

A centerpiece of cancer treatment at El Camino Hospital is the state-of-the-art Varian Clinac 21EX linear accelerator, offering patients the same advanced cancer treatment options available at university affiliated medical centers.

Treatments include 3D conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT), a computer guided treatment planning and delivery method that delivers high-energy doses of radiation, destroying cancerous tumors with no significant harm to normal tissue.

The linear accelerator's capabilities also include intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), an advanced form of 3DCRT, which uses moveable "leaves" to further shape and vary the radiation dose; and radiosurgery, a highly specialized form of radiation therapy used in the treatment of brain tumors.

Brachytherapy, one of several options for treating prostate cancer, is a procedure in which radioactive seeds are permanently implanted into the prostate gland during ultrasound guided surgery.

Breast Health Center

Stereotactic breast biopsy procedures; completely upgraded mammography equipment; and the R2 Image Checker, a computer-aided analog and digital mammography detection system; are available at the El Camino Hospital Breast Health Center, fully accredited by the American College of Radiology. Treatments include 3D conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT), a computer guided treatment planning and delivery method that delivers high-energy doses of radiation, destroying cancerous tumors with no significant harm to normal tissue.

Hope and healing are all around you

When you or a loved one has cancer, you seek not only the best medical care, but also information about other resources that can help you cope with the diagnosis and fight the disease.
