Image of the El Camino Hospital Women's Hospital Labor & Delivery suiteOur private birthing suites offer you and your family many comforts. Each spacious suite has a sleep chair and a picture window for a comfortable setting filled with natural light. An anesthesiologist is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to meet your needs while in one of the the labor and delivery units.

El Camino Hospital Mountain View

In the birthing suites at our Mountain View location, all the medical equipment your delivery team needs is concealed inside the suite's cabinetry. A full shower and bathtub are in each of our rooms. Two cesarean suites are also available.

We believe it is beneficial for the laboring mother and father to have the support of others during labor. Two additional support partners may be designated upon admission. (Note: Once designated these support partners cannot be exchanged for other visitors.)

Following delivery, you will have a chance to bond with your baby and recover before you move into a room on the maternity unit. The maternity unit has 44 beds: twenty eight private and eight semi-private rooms. Assignment of rooms is based on bed availability and time of delivery. While we understand that most patients would prefer a private room, we must give priority to patients whose babies are in the NICU as well as to parents with twins. We regret that we cannot move patients to accommodate private room requests.

We encourage parents to attend classes offered through our Maternal Child Health Education department to prepare for the labor and delivery of your newborn. For class information, please contact our Maternal Child Health Education department at 650-940-7302, or visit our Childbirth Preparation Classes calendar.

El Camino Hospital Los Gatos

Six newly remodeled birthing suites at our Los Gatos location are designed to make you as comfortable as possible during your stay. Each suite has a full shower and a bidet; a jacuzzi is available. The Women's Hospital has two cesarean suites should the need arise. We do not limit the number of support partners.

Following your delivery, you will be able to bond with your baby and recover before you move into a room in the maternity unit. All of the beds in the maternity unit in our Los Gatos Women's Hospital are private rooms; newborns can sleep in a separate nursery if the mother so chooses. All of the maternity unit rooms look out on a garden courtyard, which is accessible from the rooms (newborn babies should remain inside, however). The hospital is equipped with a radio-frequency system that sets off an alarm if a tagged baby goes through one of the exits; all newborns receive one of these tags, which is strapped around his or her ankle, shortly after birth.

We offer several classes to prospective parents through our Maternal Child Health Education department. For class information, please contact our Los Gatos Maternal Child Health Education department at 408-866-3905.
