Indications for Use

Last Updated Monday, August 01, 2011 10:39:07 AM

Many urinary stones will pass spontaneously in the urine. When stones are too large to pass, the urologist may use a wire basket to dislodge and remove the urinary stone. When stones are too large to remove with a basket, the urologist will opt to fragment the stone with Lithotripsy.

The urologist will decide which modality should be used for your procedure based on the size of the stone, its location, and the anatomy of your urinary tract.

The Urology Center has been treating kidney stones for more than 20 years with minimally invasive procedures. The Center has available for your urologist all existing modalities and all devices for Extracorporeal and Intracorporeal stone treatment. This allows your treating urologist to select the optimum technology for your individual treatment.
