The Health Library and Resource Centers (HLRC) in Mountain View and in Los Gatos provide a wide array of unique resources and support services for older adults, their family members, adult children, friends and caregivers.
The Health Library & Resource Center is dedicated to helping patients, families and the community find the resources and information they need to make informed decisions about their health.
You can use the services at the Health Library & Resource Center, located on the main floor of the hospital, over the phone or online. If you visit or call, you will be assisted by the same professional research librarians who support the information needs of physicians and nurses at the hospital. You may also browse through books, videos, or use the computers in the library.
In addition to these services, the Health Library and Resource Center provides many outreach activities to seniors and their family members in the community. Some of these include:
- Weekly HLRC table at the Sunnyvale and Mountain View Senior Centers
- Weekly HLRC table at the Indian Community Center at Rancho Rinconada in Cupertino
- Monthly HLRC table at the Los Gatos and Saratoga Senior Centers
Additionally, the HLRC table or literature is available at Community Wellness Lectures, hospital screenings (onsite and off-site), health fairs at the hospital or in the community, mall walks that take place at Westfield Valley Fair in Santa Clara, Lunch ‘N’ Learn events, and other community events, such as the annual Active Older Adults Day at the El Camino YMCA and the Move-to-Wellness Festival put on by the YMCA and various organizations in and around the City of Mountain View.
The Health Library and Resource Center is also partnering with the Public Libraries throughout our community providing information, literature and speakers.
