The acute adult partial hospitalization program is offered as a step-down from inpatient treatment or in lieu of inpatient treatment. Our goal is to promote the return of healthy role function and coping skills through the use of intensive brief treatment. By discharge, patients should be able to effectively continue their treatment in a traditional outpatient setting with their own outpatient psychiatrist and/or therapist.

Length of stay in the PHP/IOP programs is based on medical necessity. The average length of stay in PHP is 15 treatment days; in IOP 6-12 sessions. Patients return to their community providers or are referred to providers upon discharge from the hospital-based programs.

About our programs

The partial hospitalization program (PHP) is available six hours per day, five days per week. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) provides treatment up to three hours per day, five days per week. These programs provide intensive brief treatment with the goal of promoting healthy role function and coping skills. Both programs use cognitive behavioral therapy as their theoretical framework and tailor the treatment to meet individual needs. 

Our staff

Our professional staff consists of psychiatrist medical directors, clinical nurse specialists, registered nurses, marriage and family therapists, occupational therapists and psychologists.

Admission

Patients are referred to the outpatient programs by their community psychiatrist and/or therapist, by psychiatric inpatient hospitals, and on occasion by self or family. All prospective patients undergo an initial assessment by appointment to determine the best level of care.

Most insurance plans cover the partial hospital/intensive outpatient programs. Psychiatrist fees are separate from hospital program fees.
