EL Camino Hospital’s Bariatric Surgery Support Group

Last Updated 8/20/2010 4:06:06 PM

Bariatric surgery requires a profound adjustment, physically, mentally and emotionally. The surgery can lead to a whole new body, but that means committing to some serious lifestyle changes. You'll have to change your eating patterns, adjust to avoiding liquids during meals and ease your way into a regular exercise program.

While nothing can replace your doctor's advice, it can be very validating to talk to people who share your experience. That's the idea behind our bariatric surgery support group, a monthly gathering where former patients can find inspiration, motivation and encouragement. Participants often end up making new friends and helping each other stay on track.

The Bariatric Surgery Support Group for current and past patients meets from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month in conference room G, which is located on the ground floor of the Mountain View hospital.
