At El Camino Hospital your surgical team consists of your bariatric surgeon, a scrub nurse, a circulatory nurse, an anesthesiologist and a technician that are specialized in your type of bariatric surgery.
Depending on the type of surgery you elect, the actual surgery can take anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours. You’ll remain in the recovery room for 90 minutes following surgery for observation.
All of our bariatric surgery procedures are minimally invasive, which means smaller incisions, less pain and a shorter recovery time. Your surgery will be performed in our new bariatric operating room with size-appropriate medical equipment.
