Dr. Zaré grew up in Iran and received his graduate medical education from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India, before moving to the U.S. in 1996.
He completed his general surgery training at Georgetown University and received additional sub-specialty training in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Prior to moving to California in 2008, he was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Boston University and the Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery at the VA Boston Healthcare System.
