El Camino Hospital Los Gatos is a 143-bed, full-service, acute-care hospital that has served communities in the South San Francisco Bay Area since 1962. It and its sibling campus in Mountain View are operated by El Camino Hospital as one organization with two campuses. That means that much of the information you'll find here--for example, visiting hours, policies, and our mission and vision--apply to both locations. El Camino Hospital Los Gatos serves Los Gatos and the surrounding areas as a community hospital, so it is designed to operate as a healthcare resource for people who live in those areas.

El Camino Hospital purchased the former Community Hospital of Los Gatos in April 2009, and it closed the facility at that time in order to hire and retrain its staff, renovate the buildings, install new medical equipment, and add a new electronic medical records system that ties into the system already in operation at El Camino Hospital Mountain View. The Los Gatos facility reopened in mid-July 2009, and is fully accredited by the Joint Commission, the California Department of Health and the California Medical Association.

Both the Los Gatos and Mountain View campuses accept all major insurance carriers, and doctors who have privileges with El Camino Hospital may practice at both locations. Your patient information is accessible from either location, and is safeguarded by the same medical records system. You may pay your bill at either location.

Because both hospitals are part of the same organization, your doctor may refer you to either location. You may take advantage of services at either campus--for example, if you're an expectant parent, you may decide to deliver your baby at El Camino Hospital Los Gatos but take childbirth classes at El Camino Hospital Mountain View, or vice versa.
