El Camino Hospital's Chest Pain Center has received full Accreditation with PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care for its treatment of acute coronary syndrome (ACS).

The Society’s accreditation process insures centers meet or exceed quality-of-care measures in acute cardiac medicine, applying rigorous national standards designed to insure that accredited facilities deliver consistently effective ACS care and implement processes that significantly reduce patient mortality.

Get With the Guidelines from American Stroke Association
Gold Plus Award from the American Heart Association/
American Stroke Association

The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recognize hospitals for their success in using its Get With The Guidelines program to improve the quality of care for heart disease and stroke patients.

Gold Plus hospitals follow treatment guidelines in certain key measures at least 85 percent of the time and have maintained this performance level for consecutive twelve-month intervals. The Plus award also indicates an additional 75 percent compliance with module-specific quality measures for at least twelve consecutive months.

The Cardiovascular Pulmonary Wellness Center at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View has been consistently recognized since 2003, by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), for their commitment to enhancing standards of care in the delivery of their cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs.

The AACVPR Program Certification is the only peer-reviewed accreditation process designed to review individual programs for adherence to standards and guidelines developed and published by the AACVPR and other professional societies. Each program is reviewed by the AACVPR National Certification Committee and certification is awarded by the AACVPR Board of Directors.

Certified AACVPR programs are recognized as leaders in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation because they offer the most advanced practices available. AACVPR Program Certification is valid for three years.

Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission for Stroke Center
To achieve this designation, El Camino Hospital had to demonstrate that its stroke program is meeting national standards and guidelines that can significantly improve outcomes for stroke, the nation's third leading cause of death. El Camino Hospital joins the elite ranks of less than 200 primary stroke centers in the United States to earn the designation.
