Society of Chest Pain Centers
El Camino Hospital's Chest Pain Center has become the first Chest Pain Center in the South Bay and the Peninsula to receive full Accreditation with PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) from the Society of Chest Pain Centers for its treatment of acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
The Society’s accreditation process insures centers meet or exceed quality-of-care measures in acute cardiac medicine, applying rigorous national standards designed to insure that accredited facilities deliver consistently effective ACS care and implement processes that significantly reduce patient mortality.

Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission for Stroke Center
To achieve this designation, El Camino Hospital had to demonstrate that its stroke program is meeting national standards and guidelines that can significantly improve outcomes for stroke, the nation's third leading cause of death. El Camino Hospital joins the elite ranks of less than 200 primary stroke centers in the United States to earn the designation.
