For any of the following services:
Intensive Care Nursing Unit (LG)
Medical Nursing Unit (LG)
Orthopedic Nursing Unit (LG)
Critical Care Nursing Unit (MV)
Endoscopy Unit (MV)
Your responsibility is to assist the staff with a variety of administrative and non-medical tasks. Depending on the unit in which you serve, you would help by acting as a receptionist; updating charts, folders and binders; restocking items; and occasionally running errands to various departments, such as taking a sealed specimen to the Laboratory.
Patient Care Liaison (MV): Your responsibility is to assist the staff in the nursing units, particularly the Host, by providing friendly non-medical assistance to patients and family/visitors at the bedside. Your role is to add the extra human touch that brightens their stay in the hospital and reduces stress while increasing efficiency within the nursing unit. At present, volunteer participation in this new program is by invitation only.
