In 2007, Sarah, age 36, suffered a rare stroke (cerebral venous thrombosis) during her first trimester of pregnancy. Although she was having classic stroke symptoms, Sarah and her family didn't realize it was actually a stroke until one side of her face collapsed. She was rushed to El Camino Hospital and was treated by Dr. Peter Fung, stroke program director. Today, Sarah is almost completely recovered from her ordeal and is happy to report that her baby, now age 2, is doing just fine. Here is her story.
