El Camino Hospital’s Nurse Barb and her Daily Dose TV segments feature short chats with Nurse Barb and our own El Camino Hospital physicians talking about all the latest innovations in medicine, which are happening at both our Mountain View and Los Gatos campuses.
Who’s Nurse Barb?
Nurse Barb (www.nursebarb.com), aka Barbara Dehn, R.N., M.S., N.P. is a nurse practitioner at our Women’s Hospital. She has practiced with Dr. Katharine Sutherland and Dr. Christine Litwin-Sanguinetti in the Women Physicians GYN Medical Group (www.elcaminoobgyn.com) for more than 20 years.
In addition to being a longtime nurse practitioner in our community, Nurse Barb is also known throughout the entire Bay Area and beyond. She is a well known health expert on San Francisco TV, and has appeared on CNN, Good Morning America, CBS, and NBC. Known as an outstanding medical communicator, Nurse Barb is a popular guest lecturer at Stanford University and has written numerous award-winning Personal Guides to Health.
What’s Nurse Barb’s Daily Dose?
A few years ago, Nurse Barb started a blog for people who wanted health information in an easy-to-understand format. This year, we decided to take her blog to the big screen, where she will be interviewing El Camino Hospital medical experts about everything from technology used in orthopedics to new ways to screen for cancer.
What’s unique about Nurse Barb is that she makes medicine relevant and understandable. She’s the perfect “tour guide” for a behind-the-scenes look at the technically innovative side of medicine. She’s also deeply interested in getting the best, most up-to-date information for her patients and viewers, which she wants to share in practical, "how does this affect me?" terms.
