The Norma Melchor Heart & Vascular Institute at El Camino Hospital last month received a three-star rating for aortic valve replacement outcomes from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons National Database.
The rating, based on outcomes between July 2010 and June 2013, is the highest the Society of Thoracic Surgeons awards. The distinction ranks El Camino Hospital in the top 5 percent of hospitals nationally for outstanding performance and outcomes in aortic valve replacement.
