While waiting for the results of the NLST, a small team of researchers at El Camino Hospital, led by Elwyn Cabebe, MD, wanted to see if 'there was a way we could stratify the patients," says Cabebe. "We wanted to see if we could predetermine who would be best to screen with a CT scan and minimize adverse risks."
