Rich Katzman joined the management team of El Camino Hospital in May 2014 where he has assumed the position of Chief Strategy Officer.
Prior to joining El Camino Hospital, Rich served as Vice President of Academic Affairs at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from 2002 to 2014. In that role, he had operational responsibility over all academic areas for the Medical Center, including Graduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education and an academic operating budget totaling $250 Million. In addition, he had business management and development responsibility over the Cedars-Sinai Technology Transfer Office, which generated as much as $18 million in revenue, annually.
Rich joined Cedars-Sinai Medical Center as Vice President for Business Development in 1997. During his tenure, the Medical Center experienced significant growth in hospital admissions, outpatient visits and overall profitability. Prior to coming to Cedars-Sinai, Rich had a range of planning, business development and financial experience running from community-based hospitals to university and academic medical centers to a publicly traded corporation and a start-up information technology company.
Rich earned a bachelor's degree in finance from The American University in Washington, DC. He also holds a master's degree in health services administration from the University of Arizona in Tucson.
