Mr. King previously served as the senior vice president and CFO of Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he worked closely with the medical staff on building loyalty and on performance improvement metrics. Mr. King also led a number of bond refinancings in connection with Rockingham's $300 million construction project, increased the hospital's Medicare reimbursement, and designed and implemented a charity program that encouraged the purchase of health insurance, yet was responsive to the needs of those with limited means.
Additional roles Mr. King has held include CFO of Jupiter Medical Center, in Jupiter, Florida, and varying positions of increasing responsibility at both Baptist Health Care in Pensacola, Florida, and Humana, Inc., in Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.
Mr. King became certified as an emergency medical technician and used that training by working in a hospital while completing his undergraduate studies. "Working as an orderly was an incredible opportunity," he says. "It provided me with the foundation to better understand the clinical aspects of what we do, and I believe that helps me better serve our clinicians."
He received his M.B.A. from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. He is a Healthcare Financial Management Association fellow.
