Admissions & Registration

Exceptional healthcare isn't just about medical care, it's also about convenience and efficiency. At El Camino Hospital, our goal is to make your check-in experience as seamless as possible.

When you arrive at El Camino Hospital, we’re dedicated to providing streamlined care from the moment you check in until the time you’re discharged. We also offer interpretation services to those who are non-English or limited-English speaking or hearing impaired. Please let the registration department know before you’re admitted so we can accommodate you.

If you’re scheduled for admission, your doctor’s office staff will give you an admission packet with instructions to return it to us before you’re scheduled to arrive.

  • Maternity Admissions. Our mother-baby care team is standing by and ready to welcome your new baby.
  • Emergency Admissions. We offer emergency care 24/7 at both Mountain View and Los Gatos campuses.
  • Surgery Admissions. From check-in through recovery, we’re focused on your comfort and well-being.

For your convenience, you can also pre-register for your hospital stay before you arrive by completing our pre-admission form — it’ll help speed up the registration process.

What to Bring to the Hospital

When you come to the hospital, be sure to bring:

  • A current photo ID and insurance cards (including Medicare and Medi-Cal cards) and any special forms or pre-authorization requirements.
  • A complete list of all current prescription and over-the-counter medications — including vitamins or dietary supplements — and the strength, dose and frequency of the medications. For your convenience, we offer a medication form you can download, print and fill out before you arrive.
  • A copy of your advance healthcare directive.
  • Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and basic toiletries.
  • Assistive items such as glasses, hearing aids or dentures — along with the cases or containers — as well as canes or walkers.

Please leave valuables at home, such as jewelry or large sums of cash. In addition, don’t bring any medications that you take at home, unless your doctor tells you to do so.
